Dr. Leonie Carter

I always loved animals and spent my childhood surrounded by wide variety of pets and whatever injured wildlife I could find and recuperate. I also love science and biology, and veterinary medicine provided a way for me to meld these two passions. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Calgary in 2004 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Great Distinction from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. 

My favourite thing about the OAH team is how everybody is willing to jump in and help wherever they are needed and everyone has a great sense of humor! Making a difference in the lives of pets and their people is the thing I love most about my job as a Veterinarian. My special interests are Dentistry and Soft Tissue Surgery. Outside of work, I have two Icelandic horses and would love to go on a horseback riding tour of Iceland one day.
